Seven Elements Of A Killer Squeeze Page
If you want to maximize your opt-in conversion rate, you need to apply the seven elements for a killer squeeze page.
- Compelling Headline: you have about three seconds to grab the attention of your visitor and give them a reason to stay and read what you have to say before they click away to the next site. Especially if you’re advertising on traffic exchanges other related websites.
- Bullet List of Benefits: once you’ve got their attention, you’ve got to keep it by telling exactly what your freebie is going to do and how it’s going to help them get what they want.
- Strong Call to Action: next you need to tell them what to do and how to get what you’re offering. For example, “Enter you name and email below for instant access.”
- Opt-In Form: this may seem obvious, but the placing of the form is what’s important. It should be “above the fold” for best results. And the submit button should also use text like “Click Here For Instant Access” instead of just “Submit.”
- Email Notice: you need to give an incentive or a reason to enter a real email address. Note that the download link will be sent to their email inbox or they will need to confirm to get the download.
- Privacy Statement: ensure your subscribers that their information will not be shared with anyone and that you respect their privacy.
- Trust Seal: an easy way to increase conversions is by placing a trust seal on your site to let your visitors know that you do business with honesty and integrity. For example, I use the Honest Online button on my site.
Besides those seven elements, good formatting, nice graphics, and a professional design will go a long way to increase your conversion rates. But for most direct response squeeze pages, a simple page with a white background and black text will do just fine.

How To Set Up Your Follow-Up Sequence to Track Open Rates And Clicks

If you want to get the best results from your followup series, then you need to know which messages are getting opened and which links are clicked.
You can use the tracking features at Aweber to see how many people are opening your messages. Then you can fine-tune your subject lines to increase your
open rate.
To use this feature you need to enable open-rate tracking in list settings. Then you need to format your message in both text and HTML.
I don’t use any formatting in my HTML emails because it’s much more effective when an email appears to be plain text.
Here’s why…
First, if you use bold or colored text, it looks more like a sales letter rather than a personal email.
Second, it becomes obvious you’re reading HTML and the trick I’m about to show you won’t work.
When you’re promoting an affiliate product, you can enter the actual URL and then link the text to your affiliate link.
For example, if you click the link below, you’ll be taken to a different page on my site:

You can also enable click tracking for each message. That will help you determine which links are getting clicked the most so you can modify your messages to increase your click-through rate.
Combining open-rate tracking and click tracking is a very powerful tool. Plus, it looks better…
Instead of seeing the long, ugly tracking link, your readers simply see the URL to the site.
The easiest way to create the HTML message is to copy and paste the text message and then create a hyper link from the text link. Then copy and paste that link.

How To Find Profitable Products
Once you’ve chosen a profitable market, you need find good affiliate products to promote.
Here’s what to look for:
- High commission (50% - 75%)
- High converting sales letter
- Quality product that you would want to buy
- Proven marketing tools (email ads, graphics, etc.)
- No cost to join
Promote Digital Products For Higher Commissions
I highly recommend that you start out promoting digital products such as information and software. Digital products are available for instant download so there is very little overhead and profit margins are much higher than they are with hard goods.
That’s why merchant’s who sell digital products pay higher commissions. In fact, there are thousands of programs online that will pay you 50% - 75% commission and it costs you nothing to join as an affiliate.
Look for a Sales Letter That Converts
Having said that, not all digital products will make you money just because they pay high commissions. You need a program with a salesletter that converts
visitors into buyers.
So how do you know if a sales letter will convert?
The obvious answer is to read the entire salesletter. If you’re convinced that the product is worth buying, that’s a pretty good sign that others will buy it too.
Just go to ClickBank and look for products in the $27 - $97 range that pay 50% - 75% commission. A good info product in this price range is easy to sell.
Visit each website and study their marketing. If you’re impressed, add it to your product portfolio.
Record all the details of the product and the affiliate program including the URL of the sales letter and the affiliate tools, commission paid, etc.
You can use the free tool at www.MyAffiliateRolodex.com to keep track of all that data.
So what I want you to do right now is make a list of potential products in your market that you would consider promoting.

How To Find a Profitable Niche Market
You’ve probably heard the saying, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” Well I say, “Follow the money and then you’ll have the time and freedom to do what you love.”
You don’t want to waste your time promoting products that won’t make you any money. So you need to select a market that you know will be profitable.
Many new marketers think you need to find untapped niche markets to be successful. But markets with high demand and no competition are very rare. You might be able to make a little money in a niche market where there is little competition. But you can’t build a business in a market with low demand.
You want a competitive market where a lot of money is already being spent. There will always be room in a market of cash-in-hand buyers. All you need is a small slice of the pie. ;o)
What Makes a Market Profitable?
Any market that helps people make money, save money or improve their life in some way will be profitable.
Some profitable markets are obvious:
- Weight loss
- Home business
- Forex trading
There are literally thousands of markets that could be profitable. But since we are promoting affiliate products, I suggest you choose a market that already has popular affiliate programs available.
The best place to start your search is the ClickBank Marketplace. There are over 11,000 information products to promote in dozens of markets and most pay 50-75% commission per sale.
Again, you don’t have to be passionate about the market but it should something you at least have an interest in learning about because you’ll need to know what what you’re selling before you can recommend it to others.
Forget about brainstorming ideas…Just go straight to the ClickBank marketplace and select one of the top-selling products in a category that interests you.
But keep in mind the criteria for a profitability:
- Making money
- Saving money
- Self improvement
That gives you a lot to choose from if you really think about it…now go find your niche!

Do You Have The Right Business Mindset?
Every day there are countless numbers of intelligent people, like yourself, who come to the internet looking to make their dreams of financial freedom come true.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that there is huge potential to make money on the Internet. But it does take much more than intelligence to succeed in this business.
You MUST have the right business mindset.
In other words, the way you approach this business will determine whether or not you will be successful.
If you’re looking at affiliate marketing as business opportunity, then you’re looking at it all wrong…
An opportunity seeker is somebody who is looking to make money online, but wants to do it with little work or effort. They believe that there is some “magic formula” that will solve all of their problems and make them a ton of cash.
When they try an “opportunity” and it doesn’t make them money within the first couple weeks, they abandon it and move on to the next one.
After several failed attempts they usually give up, claim the Internet is some big scam, and go back to their day job.
In just a few months they will start all over again.
Now don’t worry if this describes you. It is not your fault. When the Internet started it was a big opportunity. It was quite easy to put up a website and start making money from it rather quickly.
In fact millions of dollars were made from very poorly run websites.
But like all things, as soon as there is a potential for money making the Internet quickly became overcrowded with “opportunity seekers” looking to make a big buck with little or no effort.
That simply will not work any longer.
There is no “magic formula” for making money online. It all comes down to hard work, focus, consistency and confidence. You must truly believe that you will succeed - without any doubts in your mind.
Stop looking for ways to make a quick buck and stay focused on a plan to start an Internet business that will continue to grow, expand, and thrive to the point where you will be able to do whatever you want, and more important, live the life you have always wanted.
- A business that will continue to grow and expand for years to come.
- A business that will give you the financial security that you need in order to do what you want to do when you want to.
- A business that will give you the satisfaction that you have worked hard for what you’ve accomplished.
- A business that will put you in the position to help others in need, which is the most fulfilling thing that you can ever do.
So how do you make sure you have the right business mindset? Well, first off you need to understand exactly what it takes to start an affiliate marketing business:
1. It will require your TIME.
While there are ways to leverage the resources of others, you must be able to put time into your business - especially at the start.
There is no specified amount of time that you need to spend, but I would say you need a minimum of 10 hours a week to get going.
2. It will require some MONEY.
If you just lost your job and you have no money, and your mortgage is coming due and you have bills that need to be paid, you are NOT in the position to get started with this business.
You need to invest some money into this business. Furthermore, it will take time before you make enough money each month to be able to survive.
You need steady source of income while you are first starting out. My wife was a high school teacher when I first started. So we had enough to get by - not to mention medical insurance.
However, I was a work-at-home dad with infant twins to look after while I worked on my business.
3. It will require your PATIENCE.
Your Affiliate Marketing business will most likely not be an overnight success (with a few rare exceptions).
You will not become a millionaire in the first week, or in the first month, and most likely not the first year.
In fact, it will probably take a minimum of two to six months to get to a point where you are able to rely on your Internet business.
It will most likely take one to three years to build a very strong business that will last for decades.
This all requires your PATIENCE. Success will come if you continue to work. Success will surely NOT come if you give up after little or no effort.
4. It will require your PASSION.
If you are not passionate about starting your own Internet business, then stop right now, close this browser and go back to your day job.
If you are the type of person who goes day to day without caring about much else than himself (or herself), then please kindly leave now.
This business is not for the selfish. You must be ready to help others. You must love the idea of working for yourself. You must be ready to put your heart into this business.
Only then will you see success. Your clients will sense your passion and trust you more. Your partners will enjoy working with you. Your business will grow naturally.
You Now Have The Potential To Become Richer Than You Have Ever Imagined!
The only limit is how much you really want your business to grow. Everything else is limitless.
The thing I love about this business is that when you think you have found your “limit” you eventually make some simple breakthrough that allows you to realize…you are not anywhere close.
And that is what makes this business so fun.

Do you know why the weight loss market is so profitable? Because just like the “make money online” group wants to push a button and get rich, people want a “magic pill” to lose weight.
Let me ask you something…
If you wanted to lose 5 pounds of pure fat and you knew you could do it in 6 weeks, would you follow the diet and exercise plan to make it happen?
It’s a lot of hard work and you keep getting side-tracked by advertisement for weight loss pills, ab machines, or Britney Spears’ secret diet.

You could buy a business or have somebody build one for you. But if you don’t have the basic marketing skills to maintain it, you’ll be right back where you were at the start.
